The Classic Sherpa Village Trek

This Sherpa Village Trek is a classic teahouse trek that passes through high mountain villages inhabited by the Sherpa people, a mountain people of Tibetan heritage who migrated south over the Himalayan chain more than 500 years ago, settling into the high valleys of the Nepal Himalaya.

Sherpa (Tibetan: “eastern people”, from shar “east” + pa “people”) are revered for their incredible strength as local high-altitude alpine climbing guides and are famous for their engaging personalities, kindness and generosity.

This trek provides a unique trekking experience to explore the Sherpa villages of Ringmo, Trakshindo and the famous Namche Bazaar and to learn about their unique tradition, culture and religion. Here we visit one of Khumbu Regions most important monastery “Trakshindo monastery”, cross over 3500 m passes and get an opportunity to view “up close” most of the highest peaks of the Himalayas which include Numbur Himal (6957m), Kusum Kangaru (6367m), Mera Peak (6654m), Thamserkhu (6623m), Ama Dablam (6812 m), Mt.
